Dashboard Tabs Overview

Dashboard Tabs help you organize multiple views within a single Dashboard, keeping related data grouped, easy to navigate, and tailored specific to your project's needs. Instead of scrolling through one long page of widgets, you can create tabs for different categories (i.e. location, equipment, data type, or widget type) and switch between them with a click. Every dashboard starts with a default tab, and you can add more tabs at any time.

Want to see it in action? Check out the video walkthrough link below.

Creating a New Tab

To add a tab, click the "+" button on your dashboard. This creates a new, empty tab where you can start adding or moving widgets right away. Name your tab something descriptive so it's easy to find later.

Renaming a Tab

To rename an existing tab, use the tab options menu (3 dots next to the tab name). Choose "Edit", type the new name, and save. This is a quick way to keep your tabs organized as your dashboard evolves.

Cloning a Tab

If you want to duplicate an existing tab - including all of its widgets, data, and thresholds - select "Clone" from the tab options menu. The cloned tab can live in the same dashboard or be copied to a different dashboard entirely by selecting "Clone to Dashboard." This is especially useful for creating new tabs quickly and efficiently.

Deleting a Tab

To remove a tab you no longer need, select "Delete" from the tab options menu.

Moving a Dashboard Category to a Different Tab

You can move an entire dashboard category to a different tab in one step. Select the sideways arrows on the category to instantly reorganize your dashboard without having to rebuild anything from scratch.

Assigning Widgets to Tabs

When you add a new widget or clone or edit an existing one, you'll see an option to assign it to a specific tab. This gives you full control over where each widget appears in your dashboard.

Tips for Using Dashboard Tabs

Organize your data - create tabs for different aspects of your project, like one for IAQ sensors, another for equipment status, and a third for alerts. Use cloning to stay consistent and build dashboards efficiently. Keep tab names short and clear so your team can navigate quickly.
